| toolbox
of hope is dedicated to every child living with illness and
disability.
toolbox of hope – for
when your body doesn’t feel good is a step-by-step interactive
workbook that provides friendly and practical exercises for children
living with illness or disability. children are introduced to
healthy ways to express their feelings and to coping skills that
can add to the meaning and enjoyment of their lives. its purpose
is to help children and their families deal with the changes and
feelings that occur when living with disease.
the tools shared in this
workbook come from the author’s childhood experience of living
with rheumatoid arthritis. once unable to walk or move her arms,
she now teaches yoga classes and experiences having this disease
as one of the greatest teachers in her life. this is the workbook
she would have wanted for herself as a young person living with
illness and disability.
it was inspired from the
desire to share the tools and understandings that the author utilized
in her journey of healing. her hope is that this workbook can
make a difference in any child’s life whose body doesn’t feel
good.
toolbox of hope
includes exercises designed for healing that can be done independently
by the child or with the help of an adult. an explanatory letter
is included for the participating adult.
